A clearer view of
your database.

Explore tables, run SQL, and edit data in a native Linux workspace for PostgreSQL and SQLite.

Find your way
through the schema.

Browse databases, schemas, and tables. Inspect data, columns, indexes, and constraints.

Write SQL.
Keep the context.

Run selected SQL or an entire script. Each query tab has its own session, and each statement gets its own results.

Search query history and reopen SQL with its original connection and database.

Make changes
with context.

Insert rows with explicit values, NULLs, or database defaults for each field.

Updates and deletes use the table’s primary key and check the original row. Conflicting edits stop before overwriting newer changes.

A workspace that
remembers the work.

Pick up where you left off

Your SQL drafts, open table tabs, layout, and appearance preferences are there when you return.

Keep your hands on the keyboard

Ctrl+N for a query tab. Ctrl+Enter to run SQL.

Frequently asked
questions.

Which databases are supported?

PostgreSQL and SQLite. Connect to a PostgreSQL server, open an existing SQLite file, or create a new SQLite database.

Which operating systems are supported?

Linux, with Wayland and X11 support.

Can I edit table data?

Insert rows with explicit values, NULLs, or database defaults. Update and delete rows in writable tables with a primary key, including composite keys. Queri stops conflicting edits before overwriting newer changes.

What is stored locally?

Connection metadata, preferences, SQL drafts, and query history. Saved PostgreSQL passwords are stored in your system’s Secret Service keyring.

What survives an application restart?

SQL drafts, query history, open table tabs, layout, and preferences. Temporary database objects and uncommitted transactions do not survive a restart.

Install Queri.

Build and install from sourceLinux · Rust 1.97 or newer

Requires the native Rust checkout, Wayland or X11, and OpenGL or Vulkan. Saved passwords need an unlocked Secret Service keyring; file dialogs use xdg-desktop-portal.

1. Install build dependencies

On Debian or Ubuntu:

Terminal
sudo apt install build-essential clang cmake pkg-config libssl-dev libdbus-1-dev \
  libfontconfig1-dev libfreetype6-dev libwayland-dev libxkbcommon-dev \
  libxkbcommon-x11-dev libxcb1-dev libxcb-xkb-dev libvulkan1 libegl1 \
  desktop-file-utils

2. Run the native application

From the native source directory containing Cargo.toml:

Terminal
cargo run --locked

3. Install a desktop launcher

Optional; requires Python 3. Installs to ~/.local. Use the generated archive name for your architecture.

Terminal
bash scripts/package-linux.sh
tar -xf dist/specdb-0.1.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz
./specdb-0.1.0-linux-x86_64/install.sh
